Warhammer 40k: Darktide - Rolling Steel Revisited
The first time I played the new game mode and map, Rolling Steel, I had no idea what to expect and we lost. In my next match, I had a better understanding of the mode and map. Here's what I learned: the match is short, timed at about 10 minutes, and the map is linear and crowded with different enemy types based on the difficulty, featuring a big boss fight toward the end.
I should mention that someone needs to defuse bombs using a puzzle that resembles one from another game mode, but it’s different enough that I haven't attempted it yet; it looks confusing until we get used to it. After completing that task, it's boss fight time, and you have to take him down as quickly as possible—two or three players should focus on the boss while one or two keep the mobs at bay.
Once you defeat the boss, sprint to the final section. Someone should be heading there as soon as the boss falls. When the door opens, rush in and destroy everything with melee or projectile weapons. Almost done! Your last task is to extract, which requires a leap of faith, as the shuttle isn’t on the surface and you need to jump a small gap. I saw one player miss, but the game counted him as extracted, so I'm not sure if that can fail.
I had a blast playing this map again and can't wait for more!
