What is Automatic transfer switch or (ATS) ?
Automatic transfer switch is an electrical switch.
That switches a power cord between tow source.
Some transfer switch are manual.
Since an operator performs the transfer by operating a switch .
While others are automatic they are already activated .
When they detect that one of the source has lost or gained energy.
In the an operator effects the transfer by throwing a switch ,
While others are automatic and trigger.
When they sense on of the source has lost or gained power .
An automatic transfer switch (ATS) is often installed where a backup generator is located , so that the generator may provide temporary electrical power is the utility source fails.
Automatic transfer switch shift to generator or solar load automatically after the absent of all main power .
ATS is usually used to automatically connect backup power from a standby engine generator , or genset , to building when normal power fails.
It also signal the Genset when to run and when to shutdown.
