9 x 100s vs. 900 x 1s with an astro camera | Is long single exposure time important or not?

How important is a "long" single exposure time when using a cooled astro camera? I took it to the extreme and, on the same night with the same equipment, exposed the same object for 15 minutes each time: once with a fairly typical single exposure time (100 seconds) and once with a very short one (1 second).

We're already touching on the exciting, but still relatively uncommon, topic of Deep Sky Lucky Imaging (DSLI)!
