River East Elementary Pool Reopens After 8 Years
After years of being closed, River East Elementary’s pool has been brought back to life! With the reopening of this community treasure, East Harlem students now have free access to swim lessons and pre-competitive programs, thanks to Asphalt Green’s Wave Makers initiative in partnership with Councilmembers Julie Menin and Shekar Krishnan, as well as the Gray Foundation.
This milestone moment brought together parents, students, community leaders, and Olympic legends, all to celebrate a new chapter for aquatics in East Harlem.
