An Interview with: Berton Pierce
JP has a nice chat with director/editor/writer/modelmaker and all round great guy Berton Pierce to talk to him about the making of his excellent 'Sense of Scale' documentary, a film all about the golden age of model miniatures used in TV and film. We also talk about his views on the current state of the industry, as well as his own personal film projects.
Berton was a commercial director from 1992 until 2005. In that time he directed 70 commercials for various clients in Europe like Sony Handicams, Lycos, DWS Deutsche Bank, Mövenpick Ice Cream, GQ Magazine, OTTO fashion catalogue, Tchibo coffee, Galeria Kaufhoff. In 2012 he directed the documentary, SENSE OF SCALE about movie model makers and how CGI is replacing practical effects in films, which is now available to freely view in its entirety on YouTube in chapter form.
