The Crew Motorfest Huge Free Update - New Island Maui - and a BIG surprise!
I tried running the Crew Motorfest early this morning and was given a "we're doing maintenance right now go away" message, so when i started later this morning, i discovered the new Season had dropped and it's pretty huge.
First - there's a new Island, Maui, and it's connected by a bridge, so unlike Forza, you don't have to load into it, you just drive across a bridge and you're there
Second - Main Island has been slightly tweaked - at least in Grand Races - many of those awful little rock walls have been removed, and I've noticed that a few checkpoints have moved slightly (there's a leg that's often used with Rally / Rallyraid / Motocross and the second checkpoint (after the big jump) is now between two rock formations and not in the open. I'm now keen to see what else they've changed - but it's interesting that they've done this. I guess enough people hated those little rock walls that the developers removed many of them (not all though - in some of the hill climb sections there are a few, but they're probably kept there to make flying off the side of the hill less likely if you're slowed down by the rock walls). Fun changes, though - i'll keep my eye out for more.
Third - new playlists, a new season pass with 20 cars (I'll be getting that soon), and third - and this is my favourite thing:
AND - NO COLLISIONS (in Grand Races, at least, and i don't know if it's for all Grand Races or just randomly) - this means that all that corner smashing and ramming each other out of the way to get in front is absolutely gone and people will have to rely on their driving skills to get ahead.
needless to say, with that logic in mind, after watching this you'll see that sometimes I am a terrible driver - but i don't care - there's a new island AND no collisions. YAY.
Obviously I was not the only person who hated the constant ramming and slamming, and now there's an alternative.
