With so many things to do in Vienna, this travel guide will illustrate all of the top attractions, how much they cost and where to find each one. We will also explore everything else you need to know from getting around on the metro, what weather to expect and what to do in Vienna with kids.

When visiting Vienna, you'll need to know how to get from the airport to the city centre, so we'll begin by explaining how the Airport Line bus and CAT (City Airport Train) work. The guide will then explore the public transport network and guide you through using both the U Bahn and S Bahn and how much each costs.

One of the top things to do in Vienna is to explore the three beautiful palaces of Schonbrunn, Hofburg and Belvedere. We'll walk you through each one and illustrate how much each costs to visit and what to expect on arrival. The travel guide will also explain where each palace is located and what metro stop to use to visit.

The Rathaus (town hall) is arguably the most impressive building in the city and the main Christmas markets are located just in front of the building from November each year. There are free tours available but most visitors will simply want to explore and admire the building from the outside. It has it's own metro stop and is located in the middle of the city.

Prater always appears high on any top list of things to do in Vienna. It's essentially a large public park to the East of the city but located at the northern tip is an amusement park that's free to get in but each ride costs to use. The most iconic amusement ride and very much a symbol of the city is their giant ferris wheel. We'll detail where it is and how much it costs.

Another great way to see Vienna from up high is the Danube tower. Sitting 150 meters tall it provides a great view over the city and is a great thing to do especially if you're travelling to Vienna with Kids.

Austria's most famous son unsurprisingly has his own museum, so the travel guide will explain where to find the museum Mozart and how much it costs to get in.

With so many things to do in Vienna, you might want to start your holiday with a ride on the ring tram; the tourist tram that takes you on a 25 minute loop of the city centre. It's a fun attraction, particularly if you're travelling with kids, it will help you get your bearings and is reasonably priced at 12 euros an adult and 6 euros for children.

If you fancy a day trip from Vienna, then we'd strongly recommend visiting Salzburg and or Bratislava. Our Travel guide will detail what to expect from each and how long it takes to travel there from Vienna.

We love sampling the local delicacies when travelling so each travel guide will single out a local dish to be aware of before you travel. In Vienna, the Wiener Schnitzel is offered in almost every restaurant, part of the Schnitzel family but this very Austrian version is always made with Veal.

Finally, if you're travelling to Vienna with kids and looking for things to do then we'd strongly recommend Time Travel Vienna, The Vienna Museum of Technology and the Zoom Children's museum. Our guide will explore each one and fill you in on where to find them and how much they cost for both adults and children.

Our 'things to do' travel guides have been designed as virtual guides that illustrate everything you need to know about a destination before you arrive so be sure to check out our channel for the full list of destinations.
