Join me on an awe-inspiring journey across the Twisleton Scars Limestone Pavement in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Armed with my trusty Nikon Z8, I ventured into a landscape that defies imagination — a place where ancient geology meets artistic beauty.
Beneath the foothills of Ingleborough and Whernside lies the mesmerizing Twisleton Scars. This limestone pavement, formed roughly 15,000 years ago during the last ice age, is a testament to Earth’s ancient forces.
Imagine vast expanses of flat rock, crisscrossed by narrow gaps (known as grykes) and dotted with lone trees and eratic boulders. It’s a photographer’s dream.
As the sun dipped toward the horizon, the scene transformed. The evening sun bathed the limestone pavement, casting long shadows and igniting the landscape.
