Why BTS Jimin Hanbok Auction Being Canceled?

BTS’ Jimin wears a hanbok suit designed by Kim Ri-eul to perform IDOL
on NBC’s 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon', which was broadcast
in September last year in the front yard of Geunjeongjeon in Gyeongbokgung Palace.
At first MyArt Auction said BTS' Jimin hanbok auction
will take place virtually on April 22-29, 2021 along
with other works of art. A preview of the artwork that
will be auctioned is available via live channels and online.
The starting price of Jimin’s outfit was set at 5 million won
($4,460).
Several fan representatives expressed their regret at the cancellation
of the auction, and also said that the news of the hanbok auction
had attracted the interest of various groups as well as domestic and
foreign media was a very good opportunity to attract and
spread Korean Culture and BTS.
However, the lack of understanding about the culture and the lack of
understanding of auction from some of the evil fans who frequently
attacked one of BTS members, led to assault and harassment against
designer Kim Rieul.
