Every year starving sea lion pups wash ashore on the California coast. Starving, dying. It’s tragic. Some of them need support all the time, like those bitten by sharks and blind ones. And Marine Mammal Care Center is a year round hospital in Los Angeles.

LYRICS
I believed the shiny stars
Were a water sparkle in the sky,
The eternal ocean state of darkness
Was the only universe.
Nothing’s drowsier than the sway
In the silence of a wavy bay.
Nothing’s louder than the land
That I share with you my dear friend.
[Chorus]
I’m an island child, the pacific dream.
If you see a lonely seal think of me.
No given name, no date of birth,
I’m just a little piece of Earth.
Oh, oh
I’m just a little piece of Earth
Oh, oh
I’m just a little piece of Earth
If you look into my eyes
You’ll see the farewell to my life,
You’ll be the picture that I’ll take with me
To the world where I’ll be free.
Nothing’s better than the sun
On my skin and the ocean left behind.
Nothing’s softer than the sand
Where I’ll meet my peaceful end.
[Chorus]
I’m an island child, the pacific dream.
If you see a lonely seal think of me.
No given name, no date of birth,
I’m just a little piece of Earth
Oh, oh
I’m just a little piece of Earth
Oh, oh
I’m just a little piece of Earth
