This is a brief overview of Critical Task Taxonomy and how it applies to rifle setup. This is not a complete coverage of this, but more of a thought starter.
Critical Task Taxonomy consists of:
1. Mission
2. Capability to execute
3. Procedures
4. Techniques
5. Skills
Plan from the top down and train from the bottom up. This is not a new concept or gospel but merely guard rails you can use to help set yourself up for success in your acquisition process of gear and training. The whole point of this is, spend time to critically think what it is you wish to accomplish and work your way from there.
