Following the release of Nathan Fake’s anthemic new track 'Sandstone', he shares Afrodeutsche’s rework of ‘Cry Me A Blizzard’, which strips the original right back to its chords, adding her own achingly beautiful vocals, to create a haunting choral ambient artwork. Both tracks are taken from the forthcoming ‘Blizzards Remixes’ EP, released November 19th on Nathan’s own Cambria Instruments imprint. This follows last year’s new album ‘Blizzards’, which was described by The Quietus as “his best work”, and “his best LP yet” yet by Resident Advisor.
Further tracks on the ‘Blizzards Remixes’ EP include a rework by French musician Irène Drésel, who transforms ‘Vectra’ into an epic and expansive dark trance banger, while Nathan provides his own live studio recording of ‘Torch Song’, which melds choppy beat juggling with gorgeously glistening synths.
Due to lockdown Fake was forced to switch focus from playing live, to revisiting his skills as a remixer, which had previously seen him deliver praised versions for the likes of Radiohead, Clark, Perc and Jon Hopkins, working for labels including Ninja Tune, Domino, Warp and Kompakt.
