How to teach sight words/ high frequency words for reading
Thanks for joining me today as I dive into the research and science behind high frequency word instruction. I apologize for titling this video "how to teach sight words/high frequency words", but I did it because most people refer to high frequency words as sight words. In this video I cover the difference between high frequency regular words, high frequency irregular words, and sight words. We can teach students high frequency words through a process called Orthographic Mapping. It is poor practice to have kids memorize them, and using the strategies in this video will help ALL of your students learn high frequency words better.
