Douglas Stuart, Author of "Shuggie Bain"
Although Douglas Stuart’s AuthorsLive event at Greenwich Library was canceled, we thought it would be a nice idea to check in remotely with him to chat about his book and how COVID-19 has affected his plans to promote it.
His book, "Shuggie Bain," takes place in the early 1980s in Glasgow. It’s the story of Agnes Bain and her children and how they cope with addiction, poverty, and life under Thatcherism. There is an undercurrent of hope that runs through the book that, despite the hardships that are faced, keeps the reader engaged and rooting for young Shuggie.
