Gary C Matzner Park Groundbreaking
This park is dedicated to the father of Pinecrest, Gary C. Matzner. Matzner passed away on July 20, 2024 just over a week after the Village held a ground breaking ceremony for Gary C. Matzner Park, 6610 N. Kendall Drive. The park is a testament to his enduring legacy and vision for Pinecrest. The event was a significant milestone in the village’s history, also attended by his family, former Mayor Evelyn Greer, Village officials and numerous community members.
“Mayor Matzner’s vision for the Village has come true. Three decades later, we are all thriving because of his wisdom, courage, and leadership,” said Mayor Joseph M. Corradino. “We are deeply grateful and want his legacy to live on as a champion of our community.”
