The FX40 has improved in AFM performance by using smaller SLD Beam spot size, which is XXum in diameter. This widens the range of cantilevers that can be used. Smaller cantilever size with higher resonance frequencies can be used due to smaller SLD beam spot size. Also, the system improved in mechanical noise by decoupling the motorized Z Stage and On-axis Focus stage. These improvements allows more accurate and faster AFM Imaging.
Additional to enhancing AFM performance, new safety features were added as well. The AFM Head crash prevention feature uses a software interlock and hardware lock switch which prevents damage to the tip of the probe and sample due to operational mistakes.
Furthermore, multiple sensors are installed inside the system to monitor and measure essential environmental conditions, such as temperature, humidity, leveling and vibration around the system. These environmental data enables you to cope with various unexpected conditions while using our AFM.
A breakthrough in fine motor technology, electrical components and software has finally allowed for the critical balance of control to meet and exceed expectations and specifications.
