Dampier Island Surfcraft Endurance Challenge
On Saturday 14th October the inaugural Dampier Island Surfcraft Endurance Challenge will take place.
This event will see a group of people row a surf boat in a continuous relay for 86km around the islands of the Dampier Archipelago to fundraise money for the Dampier Surf Life Saving Club and the Run DIPG charity. We chose Run DIPG in memory of Tamiya Lovell - a local Dampier girl who lost her battle with DIPG on October 1st 2018 at only 12 years old.
We set an initial target of $20K and have now passed $30K.
We will be hitting the water at 5am Saturday and aiming to finish as the sun sets to the backdrop of the Dampier Community Association Twilight Markets at Hampton Oval.
We will have a stall at the markets where people can donate money and purchase our limited edition event shirts.
