Previously, we've been using the graphical and trigonometric methods to find the resultant forces of some forces acting on particles. In this video, we'll use the analytical approach to find the resultant. This method has three steps:
1. Resolve each force into its X and Y components
2. Sum the forces in the X and Y directions to find the X & Y components of the resultant
3. Use these resultant components to find the magnitude and direction of the resultant force
