Goal today was not to oil down the track.
Had Forest take it easy. He launched the car at 3500 rpm and rolled in to the throttle. Engine started making power at the 60' mark, how do we know that? Well the front tires started lifting off the track at the 60' mark and as Forest continued to roll into the throttle they remained hovering over the track to the 330' mark. Now at three quarters throttle, front tires not touching, the car shifts into high gear and continues to carry the tires and POP!......Oh boy, front tires abruptly set down and Forest slows down and pulls left to the edge of the track. We broke the pinion gear at three quarters throttle....Hum, how much power has Jeff dialed into that engine.
Good point is we met our goal...We didn't oil down the track so that problem is fixed..
I'm sure Johnny Davis the track owner appreciated that.
