Tiger in the Sal Forest
This is a trailcam video of the resident male Tiger patrolling through a Sal forest in North India. Its interesting to note that though the Tiger sees the infrared of the trailcam he is not afraid and all he does is leave the path and walk straight up to the camera. I think he then scent marks the bush the trailcam is tied to. This behaviour is in marked contrast to that of another younger Tiger that was also around in the same area .This Tiger would studiously avoid my trailcams much to my frustration. I would find his tracks leading straight towards the camera before suddenly vanishing as the infrared lights came on ! This particular Tiger was probably related to the larger male as the two covered a similar area of jungle and had been seen together.
