Redcat Valkyrie 4S MT: Does This Beast Back Up Its Bold Looks?
In this video, we put the brand new Redcat Valkyrie 4S MT to the test! With its aggressive looks and killer specs, it certainly looks like a beast—but does it have the performance to match? Watch as I take this stunning RC truck to my favorite bash spot and see if it’s built for action or just all show.
Featuring a 4S-capable Hobbywing system, a 1950kv motor, and an all-metal drivetrain, the Valkyrie promises power and durability. But how does it stack up against other bashers like ARRMA and Traxxas? Find out in this in-depth Shakedown run and bash session.
I take the Redcat Valkyrie 4S MT out to my favorite bash spot, "Old Dusty," with Larry from L2theW to really see what this beast can do. Right off the bat, I noticed a few things that needed tweaking to get the most out of this truck.
After a few runs, I decided to make some key upgrades. I swapped out the stock servo for a JX Ecoboost servo for faster response and upped the BEC voltage in the ESC to 7.4V from the standard 6V. This helped stop the truck from changing direction on its own, which was making it a handful to control. To improve the handling even further, I bound the Valkyrie to my Radiolink RC8X handset using the RF6MG receiver for more precision.
The truck has insane speed, but as you know, speed isn’t fun if you can’t control it! These upgrades should bring it to the next level. Once I’m happy with the handling, I’ll be tuning the shocks and adjusting the shock fluids for even better performance. Stay tuned as we dial this truck in for ultimate fun!
