A few days ago we attempted to hot fire the budget bi-prop engine with mixed success. Basically we found 15 different ways to not lite a rocket engine. This video is the most entertaining out of the bunch. The igniter is rocket candy (potassium nitrate + table sugar) on a metal rod. I plan to release a compilation of our other failed ignition attempts.
Note: The stand is electrically isolated while the igniter is lit and placed in the engine. Once the ground crew member is clear of the stand, a switch at the control stand is set to "ON". This allows the valves to now be actuated.
