Dekita Moon Urges Students to Stay With It!
Dekita is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Human-Centered Computing at the University of Florida. Dekita also holds a Bachelors in Computer Information Systems with a minor in Business Management from The Fort Valley State University, and an Associates degree in Marketing Management. Things weren’t always easy. When Dekita failed her first two exams she questioned her decision to stay in her field. She had to really focus and decide whether she wanted to stay or give up all of her hard work. Dekita urges students to “ask questions because there may be someone in the same environment going through the same thing.” She believes that the collaborate effort of your classmates and professors will make a difference. So don’t quit!
Dekita was a 2015 summer intern at Intel. She enjoys using her creativity and expertise in design to create innovate solutions to real world problems.
