Questioning the Machine
The question isn't just how to move beyond recall, but how to leverage AI to truly foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving in our students. While AI can undoubtedly save us time, are we simply using it to streamline substitution tasks within the SAMR model? Are we truly generating meaningful activities that push students to think deeper and engage with the content in new ways?Instead of relying on AI to simply deliver information, we need to position it as a thought partner, a collaborator in the learning process. How can we use AI to spark curiosity, challenge assumptions, and ignite creativity in our students? How can AI help us design activities that encourage critical analysis, divergent thinking, and innovative problem-solving?These are the questions we need to grapple with as we move beyond the substitution stage of SAMR and truly harness the transformative potential of AI to create learning experiences that are not only efficient but also deeply meaningful for all students.
