വിഴിഞ്ഞം അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര തുറമുഖത്തിന്റെ നിർമാണത്തിനായി നൽകിയ വയബിലിറ്റി ഗ്യാപ് ഫണ്ട് തുക, വായ്പയാക്കി മാറ്റിയ കേന്ദ്ര സർക്കാരിന്റെ നിലപാടിനെതിരെ രൂക്ഷ വിമർശനമുയരുന്നു.കേന്ദ്ര സർക്കാർ അനുവദിച്ച ഫണ്ട് വായ്പയായാണ് നല്കിയത് എന്നാണ് കേന്ദ്രത്തിന്റെ കത്തില് പറയുന്നത്. തൂത്തുക്കുടി തുറമുഖത്തിന് കേന്ദ്രം നൽകിയ അതേ പരിഗണന വിഴിഞ്ഞത്തിന് നൽകണമെന്ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ധനമന്ത്രി നിർമലാ സീതാരാമനോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.
