2023 NHL's First Round Playoff Parity
Every one of the eight NHL first round playoff series was split after 3 games this year! Not one team is blowing out their opponent thus far. It seemed like a statistical anomaly but is it really? Let's take a look at the math and how we can program our way to a better understanding as well. Coincidentally the Winnipeg Jets ruined all eight series going 3-2 by losing terribly in game five. All other series made it there and will at least play a game six. Regardless, the parity in the playoffs, especially the NHL is quite high this year and will lead to some exciting final rounds!
