Freak-a-Zoid Cover w/Robot Voices - Just the Music
With a stack of Juno-106 VSTs, three drum machines, the free TAL Vocoder plugin and a few other miscellaneous instruments and effects, I recreated one of the greatest dance songs from 1983: Freak-a-Zoid by Midnight Star. This video is just the music from my (shortly forthcoming) tutorial video on using the TAL Vocoder to do robot voices, and setting up Reason's RPG-8 to get the energizing arpeggio effect that runs through the entire song.
I had so much fun getting inside Freak-a-Zoid, dissecting it and recording my cover of it in Reason, I didn't want the fun to end, so I went a little crazy making a music video for it. Let me know in the comments: Is it dope or wack?
By the way, I know that's not how the song ends, but 1. It's a really long song and 2. The Be bop a bopa doodle vocoder part isn't my bag.
