Some time ago, we replaced our 2008 door with one from Widebird. It's significantly higher quality, but also heavier, and in strong rear winds, there's a risk of the wind ripping the door out of your hands and, in the worst-case scenario, even tearing it off its hinges.
Therefore, in 2025, I installed a Widebird door stay, which solves precisely this problem. A gas spring now effectively prevents the wind from ripping the door out of your hands. The spring also limits the door's opening angle to approximately 110 degrees, allowing you to hold onto the door to a certain extent.
