Destiny 2 - How to Get The Navigator Catalyst
Let me start by saying thanks to SHI3LDSHI3LD for the general outline on Reddit. That allowed us to figure out what they meant and were able to create a full guide. In addition to that, sorry about the video quality. I was doing this with two random people off LFG, we did not entirely know what to expect, and I couldn't ask them to restart so I could make a better looking video.
For the first encounter you need to finish it for the ghosts to be active. I can't confirm the same for the second and third encounters since we killed all the adds, but you're safe either way. For the third encounter the adds respawn when you get the buff, so plan ahead.

While I didn't show the boss fight to keep things simple, you do damage by matching symbols. In the middle there should be a symbol, along with one by each of the three adds. If you kill the correct one it gives the buff that can be used to break the bosses shield.
For anyone curious what the catalyst does... "Special reload and then fire to create a Grapple Tangle at the Targeted Point."
