Britain's Road to Socialism?
Ranjeet Brar presented his new book, here broadcast live, published by the CPGB-ML, on Saturday 24th September 2022, in Saklatvala Hall in Southall, West London.

The powerful presentation discusses the context of the original 1951 CPGB (Communist Party of Great Britain) electoral program, its preamble by Harry Pollitt, then general secretary of the CPGB, and in particular Pollitts condemnation of The post-war Attlee government.
It also analyses the weak points and many revisions of the 1951 BRS, in particular its abandonment of Marx’s teaching on the state, and its adoptation of the parliamentary road, and the wholesale support of Labour - as the party of the British working class that would bring socialism by being elected to government in westminster “at the centre of a broad anti-monopoly alliance.”
Cde Ranjeet examines the context of the formation of the CPGB, Lenin’s advice to the British socialists who joined to form it, regarding their relationship with the labour party, and his general teaching on the Labour party and the second international.
The “Left Wing Program” (LWP) of the BRS is deconstructed as are the stages it envisions by which the Labour party will be elected “with left leadership”, the party will be pressured to enact the “left wing program”, and the “british state will be transformed” and won for socialism - police, army, parliament, civil service, royal family and all!
With reference to the real history of the Labour party, cde Ranjeet shows Labour to be an ardent party of Brotish capitalism and British Imperialism, and that both the LWP, and the parliamentary road to socialism in Britain are pure fantasy, and as far removed from marxism as heaven from earth.
What workers need above all is the truth, and not plausible lies.
The road to solve workers problems and end the brutal grinding exploitation of humanity by the monopolist cartels under capitalism, can only be travelled by workers gainig economic and political power, which can only be won at the expense of the monopoly capitalist class who currently rule Britain.
