Known by many names—the Battle of Market Street, the Battle of the Burg, Market Street Madness, the City Championship—this showdown has been fueled over the years by legendary figures like Watters, Parsons, McCoy, Lansanah, Chaump, Rimpfel, Thomas, and more.
Though the rivalry took a pause after 2017, it’s now set to resume, moving from the heart of the city to the suburbs. But even the change in location won’t dampen the anticipation or the intensity of competition on game day. While the Crusaders may lead the series 20-15 since the Mid-Penn Conference was established, that history means little when the teams take the field on Saturday. It’s the start of a new chapter.
