Making Sense of AICPA’s New Quality Management Standards | Surgent CPE
In May 2022, the AICPA’s Auditing Standards Board issued Statements of Quality Management Standards 1 and 2 (SQMS 1 and 2). These new statements will replace the current firm quality control guidance found in QC Section 10 and govern the design of an attest firm’s system of quality management once they become effective. This course will review the key provisions of SQMS 1 and 2 and discuss the differences between the existing and new guidance. The course will also discuss the new requirements of SAS 146, which updates the engagement partner’s responsibilities related to engagement quality, in light of SQMS 1 and 2.
