Florida Heart Associates has a large physician base and I think the physicians here are just overall just stellar. It's a very comprehensive organization.
We have everything the cardiologist would need to diagnose or look into any cardiac issues and it's all done here you don't have to go to the hospital.
Being physician-owned takes the corporateness out of it, you know, like we are... we have some "skin in the game”… so to speak. We own this practice. It is our reputations that ultimately this reflects.
Our goal is to make the patients feel that they're not a number. Their lives are important... Their health care is important to us. When you call into the office and you have a question, we're not going to pass you around. We want to take care of that issue right then and there. If I don't know the answer, then I take it upon myself. I will find the answer and I personally will call you back and make sure that that things get taken care of and again you're satisfied and everything is handled from the patient's perspective.
I've been a patient before. I am a patient. If I were in this position, how would I be feeling? What are the questions I would be having? I take into consideration what have other patients. Over the years of doing this what have we encountered with other patients? What have they mentioned to me that they're afraid of or are they makes them anxious? How long will this take? You know, "what are those aspects of the test that may be uncomfortable" and just let them know that it's okay to be feeling this way.
Find some common ground for them. Try to find, you know, something you have to get their mind maybe off of the the situation at hand. You know, if it's family or grandchildren or kids. At the end of the day, if the patients are satisfied, we know we're here for a reason. If i made a difference in one person's life that day or one person's... hecticness.
