Dylan Kwan, CEO, Caprikon Education, From Block-based to Text-based Programming
In this 1-hr Webinar Dylan will share with us his valuable experience and unique point of view in the transition from "Block-based Programming" to "Text-based Programming" for sharing with educators, parents and students. The speaker will use Cantonese, supplemented with English in their sharing.

關先生是香港編程學院啟瀚科技教育 (Caprikon Education) 的聯合創辦人。關先生專注於科技﹑教育和創新。他是一名科技愛好者以及創業家。
他在科技教育領域擁有豐富的教學和培訓經驗。他為香港的200多名教師和超過3,000名學生提供了與編程相關的培訓。他啟瀚科技教育的團隊從世界各地引入了屢獲殊榮的學習平台，促進香港科技教育發展，包括CodeCombat以及一個人工智能平台。
在此之前，他曾在C Block Capital，一家區塊鏈和金融科技公司任資本市場副總裁，負責搜羅潛力巨大的新興科技項目。他為三個主要客戶（包括一家香港上市公司）負責項目交付。在C Block Capital任職期間，他對新興科技領域進行了廣泛的研究，包括區塊鏈﹑人工智能（AI）和物聯網（IoT）。
關先生亦創辦了一家專注於兒童發展的科技公司LunaLearn，并得到了香港科技大學百萬創業大賽第三名以及香港科技園的支持。他完成了哈佛大學的本科訪問學生課程，並獲得了香港科技大學的環球商業和經濟學工商管理學士學位。
Dylan is the co-founder of Caprikon Education, a coding academy in Hong Kong. Dylan has a strong background in technology, education, and innovation. He is a technology enthusiast and entrepreneur at heart.
He has extensive teaching and training experience in the technology education field. He provided coding-related training to more than 200 teachers and 3,000 students in Hong Kong. His team at Caprikon Education has sourced world-class and award-winning learning platforms from all over the world to aid the technology education development in Hong Kong, including CodeCombat and an artificial intelligence platform.
Previously, he served at a blockchain & FinTech company, C Block Capital as the Vice President of Capital Markets, sourcing emerging technology projects with high potential. He managed project deliveries for three major client accounts, including a Hong Kong-listed company. During his term at C Block Capital, he has conducted extensive research on emerging fields such as blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT).
Dylan also co-founded LunaLearn, a technology company focusing on child development. The company won the third prize at the HKUST-Sino Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition, and is supported by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park. He completed the Visiting Undergraduate Student Program at Harvard University and holds a Bachelor of Business and Administration Degree in Global Business and Economics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

近年來，區塊編程(block-based programming)一直是學生剛開始學習編程時非常普遍的選擇。 隨著更新後的高中ICT課程加入大量基於文本的編程內容(text-based programming content)，從區塊到文本(from blocks to text)的過渡為老師及學生帶來很大挑戰。在這次活動中，關文傑先生將分享他的秘訣和經驗，令老師及學生為這過渡做好準備。內容：
1. 教授與學習文本編程時常見的挑戰
2. 令教授與學習文本編程時較容易上手的工具和平台，例如：Roblox 、CodeCombat、Google Colab
3. 有趣的文本編程項目演示
4. 學生分享（來自聖公會曾肇添中學的單紫言同學 — 香港第一位以Python完成CodeCombat所有電腦科學挑戰關卡的學生）
Description of the event:
In recent years, block-based coding has become an accessible option for students to begin their programming journey. The newly updated DSE ICT curriculum will require students to be comfortable with text-based programming, the transition from blocks to text poses a challenge for both educators and students. During this event, Mr. Dylan Kwan will share his recipe and experience in preparing for this critical transition. Content:
1. The common challenges of teaching and learning text-based programming
2. Tools and platforms to facilitate the learning of text-based programming e.g. Roblox, CodeCombat, Google Colab
3. Demo of fun text-based programming projects
4. Student sharing (Daniel Sin from S.K.H. Tsang Shiu Tim Secondary School - the first student in Hong Kong to complete all CodeCombat computer science challenges using Python).
