Born Viorica Vasilescu, she studied singing first in Bucharest, then in Paris. Made her stage debut at the Bucharest Opera in 1920 as Elsa in Lohengrin. She continued singing there until 1922 and then went to Italy, where she performed successfully at numerous theaters in the years that followed. In 1922 she married the conductor Egisto Tango (1873-1951), who was then conducting at the Vienna Volksoper. From 1926-28 undertook a major tour with an Italian opera company through Germany, Austria and Switzerland, where Viorica Tango was also part of the ensemble (which included Eva Turner, Ángeles Ottein, Roberto D'Alessio, Francesco Merli, Carlo Morelli, Riccardo Stracciari, and Fernando Autori).
Her husband was appointed to the Royal Copenhagen Opera in 1927, where he worked until 1932 as conductor and from 1932 as opera director. Viorica made a successful debut there in 1927 as Leonora in the "Trovatore". For many years she appeared here as a guest, as well as enjoyed a high reputation as a concert singer. She took part in numerous broadcasts on Danish radio. She died in 1974 in Humlebæk near Copenhagen.

Two Rs and two Ls... because the singing is extra. Trrill is about florid passages, improvisatory underpinnings, staccato'd intuitions, and virtuosities even at their most ridiculous.
Trrill's aim is to rediscover, rescue, reclaim, remaster, repitch, and recontextualize footage and recordings of the greatest singers in the so-called old-school operatic tradition—works that are primarily in the public domain or excerpted and edited to fix incorrect speeds or tones or audio-visual synching.
Caveat: I'm biased in favor of #baritones and baritone literature, but if you want to learn even more about these singers, checkout this spreadsheet. Voice parts are separated by tabs: https://bit.ly/2W4qmE3
