In this interview with the film's Director, John Maher, Joseph Zuccarelli reveals his thoughts and feelings while relating stories about his employment at the General Bakelite Company in Perth Amboy, NJ, continuing with the Bakelite Corporation and Union Carbide Corporation at Bound Brook (Piscataway) New Jersey.
Starting with the company in 1929, Joe worked in product testing and later in human services and security. After retirement, Joe became Mayor of Middlesex, New Jersey.
Until he passed away, Joe was an active member of the UCC retirees group, which still meets every third Thursday in Middlesex, NJ.
Joe is survived by daughter, Emily.
Joe gave Hugh Karraker a copy of the Trefoil Magazine (the Bakelite Corp. Newsletter), the nose cone of a WW 2 bomb and three ashtrays made of Bakelite and various filler materials.
