The Dangers of Set Files in Trading | Timing Matters! ⚠️
In this video I'll show you why set files can be dangerous and how your trade timing can make or break your success. Many traders misuse set files, but I'll explain the right way to use them.
Key Lesson: Timing is Crucial
FTMO recently reminded me that the timing of trade entries is critical. To illustrate, I tested the Hedged EA with the same settings but started at different times. Here's what happened:
1st January start: $10,000 turned into $54,000 in 7.5 months. 🚀
One week earlier (25th Dec): Margin call—$7,800 loss. 😱
One week later (8th Jan): Still profitable, but $2,000 less than the 1st Jan start.
Why Set Files are Risky
The same settings can vary drastically based on start date—showing how unreliable set files can be. Traders often blame bad set files, but the real issue is timing. Starting in the wrong market conditions could quickly lead to a margin call.
