Shontek DM-2000 clock mechanism repair. Take the housing off by prising the two side clips carefully, to reveal the gear mechanism. Take it apart (take a photo first maybe). Behind the circuit board there are two contact pads that touch the two pieces of metal strips +/-. Clean the contacts and if badly corroded, wash with nail cleaner or the like and then solder (tin) the contacts on the circuit board. File down a little, replace and test whilst open. To get the gears back it, you put in the gears against the clock face first, then the gears against the back housing next, including the magnet gear (blue) and bring them together carefully from the vertical (hold the hour shaft to prevent the clock face gears falling out). The spigot mounts have dishes that assist the gears to fall into place. Be gentle! No oil required BTW. It is a dry mechanism. The plastic forms the lubrication of sorts. Clever little design.
