The Righteousness of God Revealed: Immediate Faith Transformation
What is righteousness according to the bible? Paul believes the righteousness of God is revealed through the gospel of Christ. Our faith is to be transformed in hearing this gospel. The goodness of God leads us to repentance. Many Christians know that God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might be the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. But unfortunately they believe this to be a legal category. Where there are justified by faith in the sight of God. God the Father merely sees them through Jesus lenses as opposed to their own sinful nature. As we will see in this bible study, the New Testament view of righteousness is taken from the scriptures of the Old Testament. The Old Testament view of God's justice was very different than what our modern doctrine of justification gives us. Paul, in his letter to the Romans, uses many of these scriptures to paint the picture of the gospel of Christ.
