Preview of the Bike Scouts' 200km ride to commemorate category-5 Typhoon Yolanda's landfall in the Philippines that left over 6,000 fatalities and unbelievable damage to towns and cities in its wake in 2013. A Bike Scouts riding team retraced the path of the storm ten years ago from Eastern Samar to Tacloban City in Leyte Province in the Philippines. Bike Scouts is the only continuously-operating Volunteer Bicycle Messenger service for disaster response with ten years of experience providing an alternative means of access to communication, information, and essential supplies for people that are isolated by severe disasters. Bike Scouts is now working across the Philippines to transfer all of the skills, knowledge, and resources that are needed by local teams and communities to make true local resilience a reality. This ride and the launch of the Bike Scouts' nationwide Resilience Workshops for teams and communities was made possible with support from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation Philippines. #wearebikescouts
