A rail journey on a Class 170 train from Edinburgh to Montrose, Scotland, United Kingdom, via both Forth and Tay Rail bridges, I am Andrew, and my mate is Satwant.
While the camera man was awake and the max file size 4gb in Fat32 SD card was consumed in only 15 minutes at 1920 x 1080 @ 60fps the max size that the Go-Pro camera takes is 32GB Fat32 MicroSD card, which leaves 29GB for storage, so a maximum of seven 4GB files could be stored!
First it was in MP4 format, all I could do is watch it, all 15 segments (46GB) took 15 hours to convert to AVI and I reduced the video to 960 x 540 @ 29.97fps with WinFF, now all 15 segments are down to (7GB)
then I Joined all files into a single file with VirtualDub-1.9.9 and compressed the video with Xvid codec and sound from 48,000 khz 64KB per second to 48,000 khz 6KB per second MP3 in around 20 minutes the final size is down to (1.16GB AVI from 46GB MP4 ) and it still looks and sounds good!
