Southern Program Alliance Acciona - Metro Underground Rail Loop Project
Continuing off from our last video, Alex Wong and Brad Grant from Acciona will share with us their second success story – 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗽 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁. As crane operation will be conducted in a confined space, it was crucial that lift studies were done prior to the hiring and utilization of the equipment to ensure constructability. In addition, the team had to extract information from the old engineering drawings and convey them in a more clear and concise way.
During the design phase, 𝗙𝘂𝘇𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲-𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. By visualizing, isolating, and eliminating risks in the area, the delivery team is given full assurance that the equipment can be used to perform the needed tasks.
The 4D sequence created in Fuzor was used as a form of communication. With a video of a 3D environment, viewers were quickly able to get their head around the layout of the space, and recognize which spaces were hard to navigate, or would be problem areas for the scope undertaken. The video removed the ambiguity of the design, improving communication, engagement, and collaboration. It also helped win bids in the early stage of design. With Fuzor’s tools, the team produced animations in a short amount of time, hence allowing more back-and-forth between teams and 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀.
