Phoenix Models Aermacchi MB339 - 2.7m Span - Maiden Flight!
The maiden flight of Brian Bellamy’s newly completed Phoenix Models MB339, flown here by Oliver Alcock at Winterton model flying club’s members day, Sat 18th April 2026.
The model is a Phoenix kit, 2.7m wing-span, Jeti radio, savox 1270 servos and smoothflight 10 pro gyro. Powered by a Xicoy 180 turbine and has a FCT fuel bag installed.
On retracting the landing gear, the nosewheel did not want to come down, but Oliver did a great job in landing it on the mains, keeping the nose up as long as possible to reduce any chance of damage.
Both Brian & Oliver are part team FCB Aviation and Brian is hoping to fly the model at some of the UK model airshows this year (2026). Visit the LMA website to choose your show and book your tickets:
