A POEM BY ME!
A not very good reading of a poem i wrote. Just to get a feel on what everyone thinks of poetry. So good honest opinions please.
THE FUNERAL.
Soft white hair craddles a black hat.
Beneath is a face of pale and woe.
Tear stained cheeks eyes so red.
The scars of life carved out the features.
as she watches the only man she ever loved.
Disappear into the sodden ground.
Her heart sinks, her eyes slowly close.
As another tear escapes.
Running over the memories,
voices from along lost past.
Repeats scenes from long ago.
They grow dim.
Like the light in her eyes,
all she had ever wanted,
all she had ever hoped for,
was now like the passing clouds,
weeping their tears on the world.
To pass and never return again.
A smile floats helplessly to her lips.
It's one of those joyous memories.
From a life that's gone.
Yet a life full of love.
