Picking Orders in a 3pl warehouse with Cleverence
Ernesto Armas, WMS administrator in Sovmortrans, shared his impressions about using the Warehouse 15 software solution.
ABOUT SOVMORTRANS
Sovmortrans is a large transport and logistics holding. It provides all modes of trans-portation from road freight to air freight forwarding. The holding's operations have earned many domestic and international awards.
THE ROLE IN THE PROJECT
My task was to automate all warehouse logistics processes in our 3PL warehouse. In particular, it was important to address picking and collecting orders. Previously, if a pallet had no certificate number label, the operator had to enter it manually. Now this process is automated. We sought automation to speed up warehouse operations, make them as transparent as possible, and ensure consistency of data in the system and in the warehouse. And we managed to do it.
CHOOSING A SOLUTION
When we were choosing the software, we gave attention to Cleverence products. I had known this company since 2005 and I knew that Mobile SMARTS platform had a flex-ible structure enabling its rapid integration with various systems. We have chosen Warehouse 15 out of all available products based on this platform.
WMS DATA EXCHANGE
WMS automatically sends and receives documents via Wi-Fi. This improves opera-tions performance. All information is requested directly from the server, hence errors are virtually eliminated.
AUTOMATED AREA
Using Cleverence software on mobile computers, we move pallets from the reception area to the storage area, replenish picking points and ship pallets to orders. Tracking the items movement in the warehouse has become much easier now. Our employees have quickly become familiar with Warehouse 15 as it is friendly and easy-to-use.
RESULTS
Warehouse 15 has rapidly embedded in our business processes and enabled us to achieve our goals. All operations have become faster, and the number of errors has de-creased.
