MALAYSIA'S CLAIM TO THE KINGDOM OF SRIVIJAYA
Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand claimed the Srivijaya Kingdom in the 1970s. Indonesian researchers finally proved that the most Srivijaya remains are found in Indonesia, specifically on the island of Sumatra. Previously, Malaysia had claimed quite a lot of Indonesian culture.
Some researchers believe the center of the Srivijaya Kingdom was in Palembang, but the Srivijaya Royal Palace has not yet been found. However, researchers confirm that the Srivijaya Royal Palace is located on the island of Sumatra, not in Malaysia. The Srivijaya Kingdom is older than the Majapahit and Islamic Mataram Kingdoms. During its heyday, the Srivijaya Kingdom ruled over Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam.
