In this POV photography video, I head out with my camera on a very foggy day and let the environment guide my shots. Foggy conditions are my favourite for photography — the atmosphere, mood, and calm completely change how I shoot and how I see a scene.
Rather than overthinking composition, I focus on enjoying the walk, reacting to the fog, and shooting intuitively. As the video progresses, I start to explore composition more intentionally, using foreground and middle ground to add depth and bring the fog into perspective. Fog is perfect for simplifying scenes, creating layers, and adding scale to landscapes.
I also capture one of my favourite types of shots: long exposure photography. Shooting a waterfall in the fog adds softness, motion, and atmosphere that really suits these conditions. For this shoot, I’m using the Freewell V2 VND/CPL Hybrid Magnetic Filter, which allows me to control reflections, manage exposure, and slow my shutter speed even in changing light.
If you enjoy POV photography, foggy landscape photography, cinematic atmosphere, and long exposure shots, this video is for you.
