Disaster strikes Japan. It all started when Bakeru the Tanuki met Sun from the Issun clan on a stormy night. He gets caught up in a scourge that shakes the entire country. Bakeru hears that Oracle Saitaro and his Festival Troops are using a bizarre festival to take over Japan. He vows to go on a journey with Sun to bring peace back to Japan. To free Japan from the grip of evil spirits, Bakeru's adventure to 47 Japanese prefectures begins. Adding to the excitement, this release includes new attacks: Hurricane and Spinning Top, plus a new enemy character, Lantern Boss.
In this 3D action game, take the role of the titular character Bakeru on an adventure through Japan's 47 prefectures to defeat the diabolical Festival Troops and restore peace. There will be battles featuring fairy tale heroes and giant robots. You can fight back using your taiko drum and if you get a Henge license, use the Tanuki's power of transformation to shapeshift into different forms. 🏯Festival Troops and Festival Towers
The adventure begins in the Tanuki village in Tokushima, and continues through all 47 prefectures. Whimsical and mischievous Festival Troops stand in Bakeru's way. Festival Towers are installed at the end of each stage. The tower is barricaded with Evil Energy, and the stage cannot be completed like this. To beat a stage...
1. Look for Evil Lanterns
Evil Lanterns are the source of the Evil Energy. These can be found anywhere in a stage. They could be hidden in the ground, or enemies could be protecting them.
2. Destroy 3 Evil Lanterns
As the Evil Lanterns get destroyed, the barrier on the Festival Tower gets weaker. Destroy 3 Lanterns to remove the barrier completely.
3. Beat the Festival Tower
When you reach the Festival Tower, beat it like a drum to finish the stage!
4. To the Next Prefecture
Rescue all prefectures from Oracle Saitaro's evil spirits! Stronger enemies await in the next stage.The game features the vibrant and dynamic atmosphere of Japan, along with challenging stages that showcase the unique characteristics of each region.

New features added to the Western, Asian, and Steam release of BAKERU include the Lantern Boss, a powerful new enemy that drops an Evil Lantern when defeated, and new attacks Spinning Top* and Hurricane*. *skill will be unlocked as you progress
Spinning Top* - L (Long Press)
Continuous vertical hits, high damage, hit enemies in the air
Hurricane* - R (Long Press)
Attack while charging forward at high speed, damages multiple enemies in a line, lunge attack in the air
