More Bells & Whistles (1990) - early CGI animation (Cornell National Supercomputer Facility)
This computer-animated depiction of an orchestra is data-driven, using a MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) control stream. Software was developed to automate the synchronization of instrument motion based on musical events.
