Darumbal and Yiman man Trent White has been blown away by the popularity of his First Nations' photography, which has sparked conversations through thousands of shares on social media.
The central Queenslander photographs Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in their traditional paint styles to preserve culture and tell a story.
After seeing his story on the ABC, an anonymous photographer with dementia donated a professional kit with a DSLR, three lenses and a stand to Mr White.
He surprised young Indigenous photographer, Kaliyah Williams by gifting her the equipment.
Mr White has plans to travel the country holding workshops and donating cameras to Indigenous communities.
He says more First Nations’ photographers need to be hired, especially to capture Indigenous events like NAIDOC week.
